Auctionitis Build 1535 available now – Improvements & Fixes

Included in this update: -

Improved Update Stock on Hand

Update Stock on hand figures will now be updated for all auctions with the same product code when a sale is made or when stock on hand is altered in the auction data entry screen. The item must have a Product Code in order to use this feature.

Added Debug level and property dump option to the About Auctionitis screen

The options will provide additional assistance and information for support call requests.

Modified the error message display to simplify error reporting

Fixed a bug in the picture upload process

If auctions had incorrect pictures assigned to them then the functions that upload pictures could get misleading picture counts causing the program to check the expired pictures on Trade Me unnecessarily. The program will now count the number of pictures actually uploaded to Trade Me instead of using the number of new pictures to calculate what the number of picutres on Trade Me should be

Modified the Sella Auction load process to check image references

In some circumstancesWhen adding an auction to sella the auction could be loaded without a picture due to an incorrect image id in the database. When loading an auction the return data is checked to see if the image exists on sella or not. If an error is thrown when adding the image to the listing then the image will be reloaded and a new reference will be obtained.

Modified the Trade Me Load Auction Cycle menu option

Modified the Trade Me Relist Auction Cycle menu option

Added a Sella Load Auction Cycle menu option

Auction Cycles can now be assigned to Sella Auctions and loaded using the load cycle function form the menu. The -CYCLE: option also works when specifying -ACTION:LOADSELLA as a command ine function either in a DOS window or as part of an entry in the Windows scheduler.

Auctionitis Integration with Sella’s Quick Pay System Completed

Hi

Just a quick note to let everyone know there’s a new Auctionitis build (1525) out today that integrates listing with Auctionitis and sella’s Quick Pay system.  Quick Pay allows you to accept credit card payments for sella.co.nz sales.

Sella Quickpay logoQuick Pay is sella’s official Credit Card Payment solution and has been developed in conjunction with Direct Payment Solutions, one of New Zealand’s largest providers of robust payment products.   Quick Pay has been designed to get money for items you sell, back to you quicker. Every user of Quick Pay will have their own DPS account and any money paid will be deposited into your bank account directly. Currently using the Quick Pay service is free, and sella will not take any commission on sales paid for using Quick Pay.

Configuring Auctionitis for Quick Pay – its literally as quick as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Click File->Options
  2. Select the Sella Tab
  3. Click the Quickpay box

This enables the Quick Pay box in the Auction Input, Auction Defaults and Update Selected Auctions Windows.  Once enabled, click the Quick Pay checkbox in the Payment Instructions section to allow Quick Pay on a Sella auction.

To join or set up a free sella store:

Please contact the Sella Business Development team or phone on 0800 823 225 – make sure to let sella know you are an Auctionitis user.

Why you should be listing on Sella as well as TradeMe – Guest Blog from Auctionitis User

Why you should be listing on Sella as well as TradeMe

Hi, I’m Adrian and I’ve been selling on TradeMe for the past 4 years.

Recently we decided to give listing on Sella a go. And why not? There are no success fees, and you can use the Auctionitis technology to do all the listing work for you.  While TradeMe is always likely to be your biggest income source, we are selling a couple of hundred dollars a week thru Sella, so its worth doing. Once a week, it takes us just 5 – 10 minutes, to set up 1100 auctions to load to Sella.

My message to all Auctionitis users is that if you haven’t got round to listing on Sella yet, you are missing out. If you are selling on TradeMe you may as well try Sella as well. You’ve got nothing to lose. You’ll be making more on each sale with no success fees.

Auctionitis Update Build 1513: New Features to make multi-site listing easy

Hello

Auctionitis Build Update:

Today we’ve released build 1513 (or higher) of Auctionitis which has a few ‘often requested’  improvements for listing on sella. During the installation of this upgrade ALL sella listings in Auctionitis will be set to current.  This does not affect their status on the sella website.  It is recommended that prior to running the update you delete any old or obsolete sella listings in Auctionitis that may have been hanging around for a while!  Any sella templates or clones  will not be set to current.  Once the update is installed, run a Sella – Update Database to correctly set the status to current, sold or unsold.

In this update:

Added Filter to console to select by Auction Site

Auctionitis Auction Website Filter

Auctionitis Auction Website Filter

Easily switch between auction site listings in the Auctionitis Console.

Added Update Database option to Sella Menu

Sella Update Database Function in Auctionitis

Sella Update Database Function in Auctionitis

It is important to update the database regularly to synchronise the auction statuses with sella. This will make it easier to work with your auctions and manage stock.  The update database will NOT import auctions or changes made on sella.  The Trade Me update database function will not update sella auctions, and vice versa.

What exactly does the update database do?

It updates the ’status’ of all the auctions entered into Auctionitis by retrieving the status of the auction listing via the sella api.

Added Windows Scheduler Command Line Option

Many functions can be scheduled to occur automatically using the windows scheduler with Auctionitis.  sella update database functions can be run using the following command:

-ACTION:UPDATEDBSELLA

For more on the windows  scheduler visit our website.

Updated Shipping Options

Please see our previous blog post for  the changes made to the shipping options on sella listings.   If you have not updated your shipping options in Auctionitis for sella listings, please do so now or auctions may fail to load in the coming week.

Cheers

Auctionitis Build 1496 Release – Shipping Options for Sella Enhancement

Hello

Auctionitis Build Update:

Today we’ve released build 1496 (or higher) of Auctionitis which has enhanced shipping options for listing on sella.  What this essentially means is the shipping layout in Auctionitis for sella now functions and looks the same as the shipping options for Trade Me.  When converting a sella listing from a Trade Me listing within Auctionitis the sella shipping options are automatically created based on the Trade Me shipping options already entered for that listing.

We will be rolling out some further enhancements over the coming few days based on our user feedback from our recent phone survey and the many customer emails we receive.  This will include an update database for sella so that items will move from current  to sold/unsold just like they do for Trade Me.

I’ll update the help for sella next week, however this is a fairly intuitive/obvious update that will make your lives easier when sales are made on sella.  Go on, give it a go… its still FREE to list on sella, and this enhancement is guaranteed to make the exercise even simpler!

Auctionitis Software – September 09 Product Release Information

Hello :)

Yes, we’ve been pretty quiet the last couple of months on the blogging front – but well no news is, as they say good news – or we think what you will read here is good news!

Auctionitis News:

Firstly, we’ve continued to put out a couple of Auctionitis program updates via the auto-updater.  To check if you are up to date click Help – About and the build number should be 1495 or higher.

Category Updates have continued to roll out seamlessly behind the scenes when Trade Me make category changes, and we’ve worked closely with sella to ensure that the categories in Auctionitis map successfully to sella categories to make listing on both sites an smart experience.

The current category service date is 22-09-09.  This can be checked in the help – about menu option in Auctionitis also.  Auctionitis not only finds new and removed Trade Me categories but it also updates all your listings in Auctionitis to the closest new category if the previous category has been removed or adapted.  That’s smart – saving users having to manually update Auctionitis listings.

A new Auctionitis user wrote to us earlier in the week to say…

“Now that we’ve run Auctionitis for a while I’m getting the hang of how we want to work it.  We’re not going back to the way we did it before.  Auctionitis has saved me so much time – and I can already detect an improvement in our sales volumes as we get better at quickly relisting the popular titles at buyer interest times.” Graham.

Saving Time – Making Money – thats the tangible result of Auctionitis!  Download a FREE trial today!

Tradar:

Tradar slipped quietly out the door over 18 months ago now to a select handful of testers, and has been used successfully in several large Trade Me businesses, and a couple of small ones too!  Version 1.3 of Tradar is now available for trial and our online store will be updated for purchasing in the next fortnight.

The Tradar help documentation is now on the website as is the necessary Tradar download files.  There’s even a quick movie showing you the download and installation process!

I am currently working my way through the enormous backlog of Tradar key requests – so if you have previously requested a key, you should receive one in the next week at the latest. If you haven’t already registered – do it now!

Here’s a preview of some of the feedback about Tradar we received from our customers which will be going up on our website in the next few weeks.

Tradar Feedback:

“I have been using Tradar for over a year now, it is absolutely fantastic.  I have streamlined my business because of this program.  Many menial tasks such as placing feedback, sending e-mails to customers to advise items are sent and printing invoices are all taken care of by Tradar, either automatically or with a single click of the mouse.

The support I have received is excellent, Tracey and Evan get back to me very quickly if I have any queries.  Tradar is excellent and I can not recommend it highly enough, I will never go back to not using it because it has made everything I do post-auction so incredibly easy and fast. My customers are happier too and often comment in feedback and e-mails about how easy it is to trade with me and how informed they felt about the progress of their parcel. Janna Jansen”

While we’re on the subject of customer feedback:

Thank you to everyone who continue to email or call us with feedback and suggestions – its all greatly appreciated – especially that you’ve taken the time to do this!

We’ve received a lot of great feedback from our new users and our old favourites who have been with us for 5 years now!

We’ll be updating the website testimonials section in the coming weeks to make it more lively and current.  If there’s something you want to say to the world – here’s your chance – contact us today!

October is our 5th Birthday, hopefully we’ll get a nice new school bag each and a big lunchbox full of chocolate!  In lieu of that, we’ll be running some special price offers for new customers purchasing both Auctionitis and Tradar, and current customers who want to renew or upgrade to both products!  More on that soon!

Thanks a lot!
