Why you should be listing on Sella as well as TradeMe
Hi, I’m Adrian and I’ve been selling on TradeMe for the past 4 years.
Recently we decided to give listing on Sella a go. And why not? There are no success fees, and you can use the Auctionitis technology to do all the listing work for you. While TradeMe is always likely to be your biggest income source, we are selling a couple of hundred dollars a week thru Sella, so its worth doing. Once a week, it takes us just 5 – 10 minutes, to set up 1100 auctions to load to Sella.
My message to all Auctionitis users is that if you haven’t got round to listing on Sella yet, you are missing out. If you are selling on TradeMe you may as well try Sella as well. You’ve got nothing to lose. You’ll be making more on each sale with no success fees.
How to Get started on Sella
1. Set up your Free Sella Store.
Email info@sella.co.nz and ask for a store. Or sign up for a basic account online at www.sella.co.nz then phone the Sella Development Team on 0800 823 225. Just like TradeMe you will have your own storefront. Except its Free!
2. Set up your Sella Login info on Auctionitis
Use the Auctionitis Help Section to run you thru the process of setting up your new Sella credentials within Auctionitis.
3. Set up your Payment Instructions
Make sure you set up your payment instructions on Sella. Copy your existing ones from Trademe.
How to Load to Sella Each Week
Best way to approach things is to run the same listings on TradeMe and on Sella. This is the process we use to achieve this:
1. Copy and convert your current TradeMe Auctions to Sella Auctions
- Go to your Current Screen with all current TradeMe auctions.
- Tools > Select All.
- Tools > Copy Selected to Sella. (Give this process 5 mins to complete)
2. Set Sella Auctions to Load
- Go to your Pending Screen
- Sella > Load All Auctions. (Sella drop down is located on the Menu bar)
3. Check its all working
- Log in to Sella.co.nz and check that they are loading up. Let it run.
What about Relisting?
The following week Delete All the expired Sella Auctions from Auctionitis so you can start afresh from Step 1.
Why delete all Sella listings?
If you are listing on TradeMe as well, you will have sold some items during the week. Instead of working out which ones, and then deleting them all by hand you will save a bunch of time starting over each week. This process ensures you remove auctions sold on trademe that week. Also any new auctions you’ve loaded to TradeMe will be included in the Copy All to Sella. Saves times and hassle!
More Tricks for using Sella
- Relist your Sella auctions once per week. Don’t worry about having some auctions finishing each night.
- Don’t worry about auction end times on Sella. Just get your stuff up there.
- Sella and second tier auction sites are best for Fixed Price listings.
- If you have $1 reserve auctions on TradeMe make sure you don’t accidentally load them to Sella unless you are happy to accept a lower price.
- The chances of on the same item selling on both sites during the week is pretty low, so I wouldn’t worry about removing sold TradeMe items from Sella during the week.
- Just set and forget. Don’t bother relisting things during the week, or adding new products. Just copy over your Current Trademe Auctions once a week
You can use your existing Auctionitis program to easily load up all the auctions once a week. Once a week copy all current Auctionitis listings to Sella. Set and Forget. We were very apprehensive at first about having to manage another trading site, but the Auctionitis system makes it easy to do.
You’ll always sell more thru TradeMe but whether you are big or small it’s a great idea to get some extra exposure on Sella. They even let you list your contact details. A no-brainer!
Happy Trading,
Adrian McKeown
