About

Auctionitis was inspired by the fact that there was no auction listing/management software for Trade Me in 2003/4 to do basic tasks things that we were accustomed to doing with software when we traded on e-Bay. The original goal of Auctionitis was to minimize the time spent on repetitive and mundane aspects of running an on-line business while allowing Tracey to get on with servicing the customer and sourcing products to grow one of our Trade Me businesses, without compromising the quality of listings or communications.

As the Trade Me  business developed we began talking to other traders & discovered that the software and systems we had developed and taken for granted were far from the norm for most traders.  Many traders confessed to just using an exercise book or printing out all their emails (or both) which we both found simply astounding.

As a result of these conversations we were regularly asked about whether they would be able to buy or use the tools we had developed.  We then decided to make the extra effort and make Auctionitis commercially available.  Although with hindsight, I would have to say that I had no idea what this entailed, and that’s probably just as well! In mid April 2004 we commercially launched Auctionitis. Over the next few months we regularly picked up customers and had many people who trialled it and provided us valuable feedback.

Following the release of Auctionitis we spent some time learning the hard way what it takes to support a product in the real world - it sure isn’t easy!  We also released DeskM@te & MailM@te (automated e-mailing system) & Jafa (feedback) tools.  We gained more experience with both the reality of software support and running a 24 X 7 helpdesk from home. This was alongside Evan having a demanding full time IT consulting position, Tracey running our on-line businesses pretty much single-handedly, family responsibilities and somehow finding the time to start up and sell off another online business.

Since then its been an exciting and interesting time.  The business continues to grow every day with new customers coming on board, and we have begun an initial release of Tradar – our after sales software tool. Auctionitis is now capable of listing on Trade Me, Zillion, We Buy and development to integrate with Sella in the same fashion as Trade Me is nearing completion.

Auctionitis is made for New Zealanders & Australians by a New Zealand company with a committment to bettering the e-commerce experience of kiwis – whether its a stay at home Mum selling off her unwanted baby gear, or a large retail chain with several stores.  Auctionitis provide software for Trade Me, support and consultancy to more businesses and individuals than any other.  We can assist with everything but we draw the line at packing parcels for you ;)

We are known for our honesty, integrity, professionalism, friendliness and last but not least superb software, support & services :)
